Amritpur, Sadar and Bhojpur assembly constituencies of Farrukhabad district crowned BJP candidate Mukesh Rajput with victory by giving him a lead of 35132 votes. Whereas, Aliganj and Kaimganj MLAs could not even save their seats. SP candidate Dr. Nawal Kishore Shakya got a lead of 32692 votes from the constituencies of both the MLAs.
After the voting of Lok Sabha elections, a close contest is being reported between BJP candidate MP Mukesh Rajput and SP candidate Dr. Naval Kishore Rajput. At present both the candidates and their supporters were claiming their victory. When the counting of votes took place on Tuesday, the SP candidate in the assembly constituencies of Kaimganj and Aliganj secured 2,31,179 votes and took a lead of 32,692 votes over the BJP.
In these two assembly constituencies, BJP could get 1,98,487 votes. In the assembly constituencies of Sadar, Bhojpur and Amritpur, the BJP candidate made up for its loss by getting 2,88,438 votes. In all three assembly constituencies, BJP got 35,132 more votes than the SP candidate. With this, BJP also took a lead of 2440 votes. In these three assembly constituencies, the SP candidate got 2,53,306 votes.
Aliganj assembly constituency has a BJP MLA, while Kaimganj has a BJP-supported Apna Dal MLA. In postal ballots, BJP got 1,038 votes and SP got 800 votes. With this, BJP made lotus bloom for the third time in the district with a total of 2678 votes including 238 postal ballots and 2440 EVM votes.
